About Julie Thomas
Writer, Artist, and Creative
JR Thomas
Hello there! In case you are wondering who I am, here’s a little about me:
I’m a mother to four, grandmother to two, registered nurse, and insomniac who lives halfway between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. I write books based on biblical truths and create realistic charcoal portraits … among other creative endeavours. I am also a developer of plant-based recipes for those with food intolerances.
In 2015 I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing and Publishing through Curtin University, Australia.
A few of my other creative pursuits in the past include:
- Cloth doll patterns (well actually, I still have some if you are interested)
- Tiny crochet teddy bears that fit in your palm (too much work)
- Baking made-to-order (that sounds like my life!)
- Bamboo towelling pillowcases (it really was a good idea)
On my property, I have my own art studio – a tiny 3 x 3m building made of recycled materials with a cute wooden deck out the front. It’s hot in summer and cold in winter, but it’s a little space I can create in (and store my growing collection of art supplies).
Whether I’m writing, doing art, or making dinner… I’m always creating. And always thinking. No wonder I can’t sleep!
It’s great to have you here! I hope you enjoy my art and my books. Come and say hi and let me know what you think of them.
Julie
